Building a dream from the ground up

Phil and Rhonda Perry have built their ranch and raised their family with faith and perseverance.

Phil and Rhonda Perry of Oskaloosa, Kan., are one of the six couples who have been named to the 2021 class of Kansas Master Farmers and Farm Homemakers.

The Perrys have worked more than 30 years to build the Perry Ranch from the ground up. In 1987, Phil Perry started with 53 acres of family ground he bought from his uncle and a small herd of cows. With the help of their children, Nickie and Nathan, Phil and Rhonda Perry have grown the Perry Ranch to a herd of 500-plus head of spring-calving cows, as well as a custom preconditioning operation.
