Virginia Tech’s small grain breeding research will be the focus of the 2022 Virginia Small Grains Field Day set for Thursday, May 19 at the Eastern Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Warsaw.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to the center on May 19. The event will focus on the breeding program, but will also have stops on crop management and Smart Farm research. Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Matthew Lohr will also address the audience before lunch,” said Dr. Joseph Oakes, Superintendent of Eastern Virginia AREC.
The field day runs from 8 a.m. to noon and includes a sponsored barbecue and seafood lunch. CCA and pesticide credits will be available. The Eastern Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center is located at 2229 Menokin Road, Warsaw, Va. 22579.
